Caruso is a Los Angeles-based privately held real estate development company owned by Rick Caruso, founder and CEO. Rick Caruso is a Los Angeles native and lifelong resident, graduating from USC and Pepperdine Law School. Rick has a long track record of civic activism, formerly serving on the commissions overseeing the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and the Police Commission under three different mayors. He serves on the Board of Providence Saint John’s Health Center, the Board of Trustees of USC and as the Board Chair for Loyola High School. He is active in numerous charitable organizations: Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Para Los Ninos, and Operation Progress, among others.
Rick founded Caruso in 1987 and has grown the company into a successful development company that owns and operates unique retail and residential properties including The Grove, Waterside at Marina del Rey, The Commons at Calabasas and The Americana at Brand, among others. Caruso is widely known in the industry for its diligent efforts to work with and respond to the local community, while planning its projects to ensure that each project is unique and appropriate in size, scale, and architectural style with the surrounding community.
