UPDATE: Now with construction underway, we want to share some updated information about retailers. Carly K, Get Dressed, Solis Salon and P2 are open during construction.
We cannot believe July 4th has come and gone. Right now, you will see trucks and workers along Sunset Boulevard (Carly K to Swarthmore) and along Swarthmore from Sunset to Monument from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm daily, M-F, due to storm drain relocation work. During those hours, we have a westbound lane on Sunset closed at that time, but immediately following, by 4:00 pm, we resume regular traffic by removing that lane closure. This work will take about 9-10 more weeks to complete this phase.
All of the retailers on Swarthmore have finalized their plans to relocate or take a break so we can begin preparing for demolition. What you can expect to see along Swarthmore and Monument starting 7/18 is a team of workers installing our safety barricade. Swarthmore Avenue will be closed 100 feet past the alley to Monument starting early August to allow for the installation of the safety barricade. Due to safety reasons, the sidewalks on Swarthmore and west side of Monument will be closed to pedestrian access. Please see attached graphic for more detail.
With all of the construction activities happening on Swarthmore, we respectfully remind our valued community and patrons to be aware of the newly posted No Parking signs.
- Sunset Blvd. closed one lane westbound from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily, M-F
- Swarthmore will be closed just past the alley to Monument starting early August
- Monument will lose the sidewalk on west side of the street as the barricade will be installed along the back side of curb
- Sunset Blvd. also will lose a section of sidewalk, but access to existing crosswalks will be maintained to cross Sunset
Again, we cannot thank you enough for your patience! We hope to begin demolition of all buildings on the north side of the street mid-August. If you have any questions or concerns, please call us at (310) 744-2301.
